On August 24th my precious little girl turned 2. It has really been an amazing two years. It took me awhile once I found out I was pregnant to accept it and be happy about it. I was nervous about screwing up, nervous she wouldn't love me, wanting to be done with school, in a house. . . . After lots of praying and pondering I realized that I was being blessed, I was being given the most amazing gift my father in heaven could ever give me, the responsibility to help lead another spirit back to him.
2 years later I look at that little girl and smile. She is my everything. I know for a fact I will laugh at her every day. I know she loves me, I know she feels the spirit, I know that she looks up to her daddy and I.
Random facts of McKenna today:
*She love the song "Jesus wants me for a sunbeam"
*She "leads" music in church
*She has never had a problem going to nursery
*She doesn't like vegetables (wonder where that came from)
*She looks up to her daddy
*She is always trying to make people laught
*She is very girly, necklaces, dresses, shoes, hair bows, ALL GIRL!
*She loves imitating people
*She never says what an animal is, just its sound
*If you ask her what color something is she will ALWAYS say purple
*She would live at the park playing on the slide if I would let her
*She signs peace when she tries to tell you "I love you"
*She enjoys reading scriptures with us at night
*She helps unload the dishwasher!
*All she wants to do is help.
*Recently she watches Little Einsteins and Elmo, would watch it all day if I would let her
*She is motherly, she loves to nurture
*When she draws she always says "M"
I am sure there are so many more things I love about our amazing daughter. She is a spirit that we are extremely blessed to be allowed to share our home with. Thanks McKenna for being an example at such a young age, I am so excited to see what amazing things the Lord has prepared for you!

LAME!
Sorry I am horrible at updating or even doing this whole blogging thing. I am trying, I really am. I always think about it at the worst time, like when I am lying down for bed! Oh well, here is what went on in the passed couple days. . .
McKenna had her parties!! Jon was surprised for his birthday a couple weeks early!! It was great. I didn't get any pics from Jon's party but here are a couple from McKenna's.

Nothing but junk, i am sure the parents loved me!

fun decorations
The party was great. McKenna had fun and for sure that is all that mattered to me. Jon says he had no idea about his party (although I am thinking he is saving hurt feelings ;-)) It was alot of work but a fun day! I love being a mommy, and a wife, I have the best friends and family around! Hopefully more to follow!

A new goal for myself
Tonight for Young Womens we went to the Ronald McDonald house in Salt Lake City and I just felt the need to say my thanks for the amazing gift of health that my family has been blessed with. We wake up in the morning with aches and pains but we are able to walk, we are healthy, and happy. I love my calling in Young Women's. In all honestly it feels like I was put in to learn the minor things I didn't learn when I should have been active in Young Women's while I was younger. Simple things, like the "traditional answers" read your scriptures, say your prayers, pay your tithing. All things I have struggled with during my life. I now have a firm testimony that once we do these things then the Lord really does bless us.
I am so thankful for my husband and his love and dedication for our family. His willingness to go to school to make sure that he can provide for our family. I am thankful that he set his standards at a young age so that he could take me to the temple.
My princess, she makes me smile everyday. Today she brought me "breakfast" in bed consisted of a chip and a waffle (her plastic food) She has such a kind caring spirit and shows me daily her appreciation for me, for that I am thankful.
My friends, lately I have leaned on them more then they know. A dear friend of mines mother just passed away and it made me realize I need to be better at journaling, so here we go. Daily, nap time is a great time, it will be a composite of my random thoughts, activities in my days rough and easy, my prayers, my blessings, and trials. I want to share them. If nobody reads this oh well, I at least want some kind of record for my children.

A look in our lives
- Melissa
- Our lives started together in 2006, shortly after we found out giggles, hugs, and diapers would fill our lives, we added little M in August '07. Jon is balancing life taking care of his girls, school, and work. Melissa stays at home with little M and loves being a mom and wife. Since then I have gained over a hundred pounds. I am sick of the restrictions it gives me. I am tired of feeling groggy and miserable. I am starting over. Starting a new and teaching my family the joys of healthy living!
