Update

So tests came back. The good news is they showed no major problems. Or problems at all for that matter. However that was also the bad news. Although my tests showed nothing wrong the things happening for sure are not normal. I went to the temple and felt a very strong inclination not to take the medication that was prescribed to me. I talked to Jon about it and he stated that it worried him but he trusted me. So we are taking every day as it comes. Being thankful for the days together. Really the more I think about it I really feel as though the problems I am facing are due to two things; my weight and my anxiety. I have to get myself healthy. Not for me but for my amazing husband and wonderful daughter.

Big shock

Its been almost a month since I have written but really for those who read this it shouldn't be a surprise. Things around our house have been less then normal. We have been dealing with some medical issues we are hoping we get answers to this week. I have 3 appointments this week and we are praying for some kind of answer. I have recently been having problems eating/keeping anything down, always burning up(poor Jon freezes at night), head aches, dizziness, lightheaded, just lots of things that are kind of making me feel like a bad mom and wife. My house can't stay clean to save my life, laundry is piled up everywhere downstairs, our bed hasn't been made in weeks, all minor but frustrating none the less.

On a brighter note I have an amazing husband that no matter what kind of day it has been or how down I am can make me smile and feel amazing. I have a daughter that just wants her mommy and daddy to laugh at her. She is so silly. I have a beautiful home that although messy keeps us safe and warm. My husband has a wonderful job in these times which is such a blessing right now. I have a calling that I love and has helped my testimony grow in ways I didn't know would happen. Life is good. Medical issues don't last eternity and I have the knowledge of being with my family forever. What more could I really ask for!?

How on earth. . .

Does this. . . .
Do this to my child

Totally crazy to me. I tried and tried to get her attention for a snack this afternoon and this was the response I got. P.S. The flash from the camera finally got her attention.

Do YOU let your 2 year old watch television????

Elephants on Parade!!

The other day my friend Suzi called to tell me about an elephant parade at The Gateway Mall. We had nothing planned that day so I figured why not!! It was AWESOME, well for a 2 year old I guess. I had fun to, I won't lie.

Waiting patiently

Local News Guy
These made McKenna squeal, she LOVES balloons.

After the parade we went and fought the masses at the food court and ate some Panda Express, it had been awhile and was TOTALLY worth it! After lunch we walked around until I was bored and realized that Discovery Gateway was pay full price for one and get the second person free. McKenna had a BLAST we spent 4 hours there and she still didn't want to go. We left and had a quick dinner with Jon before he had class, after which I wasn't ready to go home so we went to Temple Square and had a relaxing evening just the two of us. We even got to listen to the Tabernacle Choir practice. McKenna OF COURSE had to help lead. I love my little girl and am so excited for our new weekly outtings. Next week. . . TreeHouse Museum!!!
A perfect ending to a perfect day!!!

An Empty September

Things have been pretty slow in our house lately. We were supposed to go out of town but due to a mandatory maintenance weekend it ended up being McKenna and I heading up a couple of days early! We were able to get together with Matt and Jessie and cute baby Brooklyn which made our trip even better. Jessie and I took Brooklyn up to get her ears pierced, she did great! Our weekend ended much to fast as they usually do but we were ready to be back with Jon.

The real reason I went to Spud Day!!
A bow I made, that I am WAY proud ofMy princess and I!
Matt doing what he does best!Brooklyn's cute earrings.

McKenna of course LOVED the parade. Every time candy was thrown she would squeal and run towards the road. I have decided parades hinder our teaching as parents yelling and teaching them not to run in the road then finally telling them to run and get candy thrown by strangers. . . .Just a random thought I had. I wish I had video of her squealing it was great!!!

I always say I will try to get better at this being updated but always epically fail so I am not making any promises!!!

I love my little helper!

Tonight we are having a "P Party" for Young Women's so I decided to make Peanut Butter Bars as a treat. My goal was to get them done during nap time but today during nap time I may or may not have dozed off a bit. So when my little McKenna woke up we worked together. Sorry Jon, I introduced her to raw cookie dough and needless to say she is like her mother and LOVED it!
Here we are all clean and ready to mix! This is good eats mom!Straight peanut butter. . . New experience for her(don't mind the messy kitchen!)This is how her face looked after the spatula and peanut butter. Man I sure love my new little helper. She kept asking for more and helping mix. She sure is a sweet heart.

My princess

On August 24th my precious little girl turned 2. It has really been an amazing two years. It took me awhile once I found out I was pregnant to accept it and be happy about it. I was nervous about screwing up, nervous she wouldn't love me, wanting to be done with school, in a house. . . . After lots of praying and pondering I realized that I was being blessed, I was being given the most amazing gift my father in heaven could ever give me, the responsibility to help lead another spirit back to him.

2 years later I look at that little girl and smile. She is my everything. I know for a fact I will laugh at her every day. I know she loves me, I know she feels the spirit, I know that she looks up to her daddy and I.

Random facts of McKenna today:
*She love the song "Jesus wants me for a sunbeam"
*She "leads" music in church
*She has never had a problem going to nursery
*She doesn't like vegetables (wonder where that came from)
*She looks up to her daddy
*She is always trying to make people laught
*She is very girly, necklaces, dresses, shoes, hair bows, ALL GIRL!
*She loves imitating people
*She never says what an animal is, just its sound
*If you ask her what color something is she will ALWAYS say purple
*She would live at the park playing on the slide if I would let her
*She signs peace when she tries to tell you "I love you"
*She enjoys reading scriptures with us at night
*She helps unload the dishwasher!
*All she wants to do is help.
*Recently she watches Little Einsteins and Elmo, would watch it all day if I would let her
*She is motherly, she loves to nurture
*When she draws she always says "M"

I am sure there are so many more things I love about our amazing daughter. She is a spirit that we are extremely blessed to be allowed to share our home with. Thanks McKenna for being an example at such a young age, I am so excited to see what amazing things the Lord has prepared for you!

LAME!

Sorry I am horrible at updating or even doing this whole blogging thing. I am trying, I really am. I always think about it at the worst time, like when I am lying down for bed! Oh well, here is what went on in the passed couple days. . .

McKenna had her parties!! Jon was surprised for his birthday a couple weeks early!! It was great. I didn't get any pics from Jon's party but here are a couple from McKenna's.

mmm. . . cake. . .

Cute birthday girl Sorry its tilted

fun decorations

Nothing but junk, i am sure the parents loved me!

The party was great. McKenna had fun and for sure that is all that mattered to me. Jon says he had no idea about his party (although I am thinking he is saving hurt feelings ;-)) It was alot of work but a fun day! I love being a mommy, and a wife, I have the best friends and family around! Hopefully more to follow!

A new goal for myself

Tonight for Young Womens we went to the Ronald McDonald house in Salt Lake City and I just felt the need to say my thanks for the amazing gift of health that my family has been blessed with. We wake up in the morning with aches and pains but we are able to walk, we are healthy, and happy. I love my calling in Young Women's. In all honestly it feels like I was put in to learn the minor things I didn't learn when I should have been active in Young Women's while I was younger. Simple things, like the "traditional answers" read your scriptures, say your prayers, pay your tithing. All things I have struggled with during my life. I now have a firm testimony that once we do these things then the Lord really does bless us.
I am so thankful for my husband and his love and dedication for our family. His willingness to go to school to make sure that he can provide for our family. I am thankful that he set his standards at a young age so that he could take me to the temple.
My princess, she makes me smile everyday. Today she brought me "breakfast" in bed consisted of a chip and a waffle (her plastic food) She has such a kind caring spirit and shows me daily her appreciation for me, for that I am thankful.
My friends, lately I have leaned on them more then they know. A dear friend of mines mother just passed away and it made me realize I need to be better at journaling, so here we go. Daily, nap time is a great time, it will be a composite of my random thoughts, activities in my days rough and easy, my prayers, my blessings, and trials. I want to share them. If nobody reads this oh well, I at least want some kind of record for my children.

Trip to Boise

Memorial Day weekend we got to go see Grandpa Al and his family. While there we were able to see precious baby Brooklyn, Matt and Jessie's little girl. It was great to see old friends. Also my Grandpa Ed was there and it was his first time meeting Jon and McKenna so that was really nice. We decided that since we don't get to see each other often we should get some pictures taken. My Step-Mom's brother in law. . . did ya follow :) took these and I think he did a great job. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the weekend.

Air Force Weekend

Gaga Bubba brought Aunt Sydni down so that she could spend the month with us, I will blog about that later, but we went to a concert at the Bountiful Park. It was actually a lot of fun. Saturday we went to the actual Air Show up at Hill AirForce Base but didn't stay long due to short attention span of a 21 month old. All and all it was a great weekend!!

Something old. . .

Alright, not really but I think it looks cool!
Some friends of mine gave me some software for digital scrapbooking and it inspired me to create my own picture of the temple. I love it, I love the software and am still learning to use it. Hopefully I will have cute things to post soon! Thanks guys!!!!

We are public!

So I decided to make our blog open to all, in hopes to get some more traffic through here. I have kind of stopped writing again. . . I am not the best at this whole thing, or is it just that I really feel like the repetitive activities of my day are rarely something to write about :-) I will try, I really will!

Like a Child

So our car is on the fritz again, (don't get me started on that!) So Wednesday night I was at Young Womens while Jon and McKenna were home working on the car. To make things easier for himself Jon got an idea to put the Pack-N-Play outside and just let her play in it. Jon was just working checking things out and all of a sudden hears McKenna saying hi and randomly talking. He looks around to see who is there and there is nobody around. So back to work Jon goes, all of a sudden McKenna says bye, signs I love you, and blows kisses. Finally Jon walks over and asks her who was here, she smiles and says Je Je, (which is how she says Jesus)
Just hearing the story and reading it again makes me smile. It reminded me how perfect she is. Jon said she was the only one there that could probably feel the spirit at that time cause he was so mad. How great would it be, to be as close as she is to her Heavenly Father. I love my little girl so much, each and every day with her is different, some are funner then others but everyone is special. Thanks McKenna for reminding me that when we are in the right place and right state of mind we occasionally get a visitor.

Update

So Grandma was supposed to go home tomorrow, but due to my grandfather being the farmer he is, he is extremely busy! Instead of going home and being worried about what will happen if grandpa isn't around and she needs something grandma found out that her insurance would cover as long as she was making progress in her rehabilitation. So she will be staying, not sure for how long. She is in our prayers and we hope the best for her.
McKenna and I are staying until Friday when Jon will come get us so that we can head to a long weekend with Grandpa Al and his family. We are excited. It has been awhile.

All fall down!!!

This weekend Jon and I had some projects planned due to my sister Sydni is coming to stay with us in June as I stated before. I was kind of excited for a weekend with the three of us. Well on Friday I recieved a phone call from my mom informing me that my grandmother had fallen and broken her leg and that they were going in for surgery first thing Saturday morning. I called Jon upset just because I am the type to worry a bit to much. After talking to my mom through out the day Jon and I decided it would be best for us to come see my grandma and spend some time with them. So here I am . . . In Idaho . . . I love it up here but love being at home with my husband!! This week is finals for him so us being gone could be good so he can stay focused. He also has the head of IT in his company coming into town so he is going to be pretty busy. McKenna and I are taking the bus home on Tuesday because I have a YW activity on Wednesday that our class is in charge of. Then we are packing up and leaving for Boise first thing Friday morning. We better relax at The Bubba's because our life is going to get CRAZY!!

Oh and Grandma is doing much better. She got up and sat in a chair this afternoon for awhile and ate on her own. We aren't sure if she will ever be back to her old self but we also know she is very stubborn.

April in Review

One Monday we decided after we got Jon that we ware going to go to the park and have a picnic and play on the toys, it was nice to be outside with the family, here are some fun pics from that night. . .

Just a cute picture I asked Jon to take, he makes fun of me for liking it so much.
She is signing I love you, or trying at least.

I love these two more then words could ever say.

She got her courage from her Daddy that's for sure, she LOVES slides.

Jon's dad came and visited his brother for a couple days, we were able to have dinner with him. It would be nice to see him more then once a year.

We had a nice Easter also, we went up to Idaho to spend it with "Bubba's" as McKenna calls them. She had her very own egg hunt. We are so lucky to be so close to our families.

Opening eggs with Bubba

While we were in Idaho Falls the sun peeked out for a minute and we went and fed the ducks.

Come on, anyone who has been to the greenbelt and fed the ducks knows it is gross!!!

MY FAMILY CAME TO VISIT US!!!! Hard to believe I know, my mom and Jon planned it all behind my back, they are getting pretty sneaky. . . . I didn't take many pictures but Sydni is coming in June, along with my parents coming the weekend of the air show =)

Well Jon has finished his final paper and has been patiently sitting over my shoulder while I finished this post. So until next time, it won't be 2 months again, I promise!!

TreeHouse Museum

Jon and I have heard about a place in Ogden called The TreeHouse Museum, we decided to try it a couple weeks ago and are SO glad we did!!!! It is amazing for McKenna, she loved every minute of it. Lots to learn for her and tons for her to play with. We are getting an annual pass there because they have "Toddler Time" on Wednesdays and I figure her and I could do that once a week. Here are some random pictures from our afternoon there.

This "storyteller" really freaked me out!

McKenna loved the firetruck! The Hat, the wheel, EVERYTHING about it!!!
And I think this one is one of my favorite of the day for some reason. . .

So if you are in the Ogden and have kids we HIGHLY recommend this place.

Its Been awhile

Well since I last wrote, we have unpacked from our amazing new home. I still love it! I will get pictures up this weekend, FINALLY, I know. Jon is finishing up another term at school. One more down, don't want to count how many more. He is so amazing and such a hard worker. We miss him dearly during the week but we value our weekends so much though!!! We are trying to be out and having fun. Hopefully we will have lots to post about over the summer!!

Almost Settled

We are slowly but surely getting unpacked and settled into our new home. We love it. There seems to be so much space. McKenna is having a ball also. I am not sure if she realizes this is our new home or if she thinks we are just visiting. Lately, like the passed two weeks she has been waking up screaming in the middle of the night only wanting me. I am not sure if we are dealing with scarey dreams or just her waking up in the middle of the night since she never did as a baby. Any advice on what to do about this would be much appreciated! Other then that there is nothing exciting going on around here. Just beginning life on our own again, and loving every minute of it!

We have a new address!!

Crazy I know, we have lived with Jon's mom for the passed year and are so thankful for her opening her home to us but it is time for us to be on our own. We found a town home in Bountiful and love it so far. We haven't unpacked but I will totally post pictures when we do for those of you who I know would love to see it.

Together Forever

So I really need to figure out how to rotate pictures on here. This weekend I was lucky enough to be able to see two very good friends get sealed together forever. Congrats you guys! Thanks for sharing your special day with me. My friend Rachel took this picture of the temple and I loved it so I thought I would share it.

Who will it be?

I found this fun idea on my friend's blog and thought it was a GREAT idea!! So be one of the first three people to comment on this and I will make you something- my choice!

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:1. I make NO guarantees that you will LIKE what I make! (I can only hope)2. What I create will be just for you.3. It WILL be done this year.4. You have no CLUE what it’s going to be … it may be cards, a bookmark, something delicious or a complete surprise to you (and me!) … who knows?5. Most importantly, you MUST offer the same deal on your blog - the first 3 people to comment on your blog get something made by YOU! (you may surprise even yourself how creative you can be when the pressure is on)

Jessie's dinner

On March 14th our friend Jessie Peterson went through the Rexburg temple to get her endowments taken out. Unfortunetly I was not able to make it but I did go "help" at the Scheller's home to make dinner for everyone who did attend the session. Here are some photos from James' and Ashley's house. Both Ashley and Jessie are pregnant so I got the "belly shot" of the two. Congrats Jessie!!!

A look in our lives

My photo
Our lives started together in 2006, shortly after we found out giggles, hugs, and diapers would fill our lives, we added little M in August '07. Jon is balancing life taking care of his girls, school, and work. Melissa stays at home with little M and loves being a mom and wife. Since then I have gained over a hundred pounds. I am sick of the restrictions it gives me. I am tired of feeling groggy and miserable. I am starting over. Starting a new and teaching my family the joys of healthy living!
